Hollie McNish

These poems were recorded at Abbey Road Studios using a vintage 1940s microphone from the studios extensive collection.

She recorded seven poems and performed them to a selected audience later the same day. This was a first for both Hollie and the studio. You can watch the full performance here.

Hollie McNish is a true 21st century spoken word artist. She broke onto the internet with a poet embraced by both young and old, female and male, creative thinkers, dreamers, business minds, housewives, popstars, nurses and leading blogs worldwide. Her fan base really is that varied. When she isn't reciting words of politics, economics, young people, race and all the issues that we often may think about but hardly ever articulate (not as well as Hollie, anyway!) she can be found running her 'Page To Performance' workshops.

Hollie challenges the thoughts and perceptions of us all. Poet Benjamin Zephaniah says: "I can't take my ears off her." High praise indeed. Her powerful poems have taken her from Glastonbury Festival to Abbey Road Studios, The Southbank Centre to Channel 4's Random Acts - Australia, France, Portugal, Poland, Latvia, America and Canada. Hollie's poetry is now highly sought after by ethical brands promoting their goods to a wider market with a thoughtful message.
