Jaguar XKR-S Audio Technology
What connects Bowers & Wilkins’ elegantly minimalist Signature Diamond speaker with the ultimately desirable Jaguar XKR-S. They may look very different, but these two special edition pieces share a design philosophy that exemplifies the bond between our two companies. The Signature Diamond, by legendary designer Kenneth Grange, combines a diamond tweeter with our Kevlar® bass/mid-range driver to create the finest possible two-way speaker. While in the XKR-S, Jaguar’s Ian Callum has taken equal care over the details, from the supercharged V8 engine to the bronze-stained Sapele wood veneer. Not forgetting, of course, an audio system incorporating key Bowers & Wilkins elements, expertly tuned for a singularly consistent and compelling sound experience.
Kevlar® Drive Units
Developed in close collaboration with Jaguar and its engineering partners, the B&W system is based on the essential layout of builds upon the XKR-S's existing audio equipment with significant improvements, particularly in speaker technologies, their installation, and voicing for the in-car environment. The essential elements of some B&W trade-mark technologies - Kevlar® cone midrange drivers and extended bandwidth aluminium dome tweeters in particular - have been tailored and refined to bring the same exceptional quality of performance to the car environment as they do to domestic music reproduction.Fine Tuning
In addition to the application of B&W technologies, the company’s unrivalled experience and expertise in tuning and voicing audio systems has been brought to bear on the XKR-S. The result is a car audio system of remarkable musical ability that satisfies in a manner uncannily similar to the best of B&W’s domestic speakers.
